Los Tacos is a small, casual taqueria on Jalan 21/12 in Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya. The menu is short and built around slow-cooked fillings: beef brisket birria, chicken tinga in tomato and chipotle adobo, and a plant-based picadillo for vegetarians.
The quesabirria (RM28 for two) is the reason to come: crisp, cheese-lined tacos filled with birria, topped with coriander and onion and served with lime, with a cup of birria consomé (RM3) for dipping. Plain tacos come two to a plate from RM16, and the same fillings go into burritos, rice bowls and nachos. Sides include elote with a creamy, lightly spicy coating, tortilla chips with house salsa, and churros with chocolate dip.
It suits a quick, inexpensive lunch or dinner, and orders can also be placed online for takeaway. Drinks are soft drinks and iced lemon tea rather than cocktails. It closes on Mondays and takes a short break on Fridays from 1pm to 2pm.
