Bored Tacos opened on Joo Chiat Road in September 2024, taking over a former bakery-café shophouse. It comes from the team behind Wooly's Bagels and the old Egg Stop, and the look is playful and retro, with a neon sign out front, checked paper-lined trays and a bright, retro interior. It is Muslim-owned and, while not halal-certified, uses no pork or lard.
Tacos come in twos or threes. Fillings include birria beef, garlic prawn, lamb, Cajun chicken, fish and tandoori chicken. Beyond tacos there are birria quesadillas, beef chilli cheese quesadillas, burrito bowls, loaded nachos and a birria beef grilled cheese, with horchata milkshakes and Jarritos to drink.
It works for a quick, inexpensive lunch or early dinner and is open daily from 11am to 8pm. Joo Chiat is the original outlet; the brand has since opened branches at Hougang (Forte Bowl), Jalan Klapa near Lavender, Simpang Bedok, Victory 8 on Jalan Legundi and Downtown East in Pasir Ris.
