Café Iguana

Café Iguana has been serving Mexican food and tequila cocktails in Singapore since 2000. This branch sits on the ground floor of Orchard Rendezvous Hotel on Tanglin Road, at the top of Orchard Road, and keeps the brand's easy-going cantina mood. Its cocktails use 100% agave tequila and mezcal.

The salsa flight is a good opener: tortilla chips with guacamole, tomatillo, habanero, pico de gallo and chipotle dips. Tacos are ordered by the piece and include Baja fish with mango habanero salsa, al pastor chicken and pork belly carnitas, while mixed seafood tostadas come with a chilli crab-style sauce. Larger plates include Angus ribeye and adobo chicken fajitas, barbacoa beef chimichangas and red snapper enchiladas, with shaker churros to finish. The Iguanarita, made with tequila and Brewerkz craft beer, is the signature margarita.

It suits after-work drinks and group dinners near Orchard. Weekdays open at 5pm and weekends from noon. The La Familia DIY taco set feeds three to four, and tables can be booked through SevenRooms.
