Don Juan Mexican Restaurant & Bar

Don Juan opened at Kuta's Bemo Corner in 2019, just before the pandemic, and stayed open through it. The building is hard to miss, painted yellow, green and red, and the interior mixes rustic industrial design, handmade artwork and plenty of colour. It has collected TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice awards, including in 2025.

The day starts at 8am with breakfast tacos and burritos, smoothie bowls and huevos rancheros. Later, order street tacos on soft corn tortillas, three to a plate, with fillings from chicken and grilled steak to cow tongue and seared yellowfin tuna, then share nachos, tostada bites or a chicken tinga burrito. Enchiladas, quesadillas and a tostada fiesta salad round out the menu, with sangria and margaritas at the bar.

An easy, good-value stop near Kuta Beach, with daily happy hours from 3pm to 6pm and 9pm to 11pm and Taco Tuesday deals. The Kuta branch only takes bookings for six or more, by WhatsApp. A second branch opened in Pererenan in 2021.
