Sinaloa occupies a vintage, colonial-style building on Jalan Padma Utara, in the quieter back streets of Legian. It mixes Mexican and Cuban street food with a full cocktail bar, and it is open from 7am to 11pm, so it works for breakfast as well as a late dinner.
Tacos are the main event, with fillings that include black bean and corn, Baja fish and Guinness-braised beef brisket; recent diners single out the chicken tacos. The cemita, a stacked Puebla-style sandwich, is another favourite, alongside nachos, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas and Mexican stews. Finish with churro ice cream, and order the margaritas.
The roomy dining room suits groups and long lunches. Happy hour runs from 5pm to 7pm, and there is a Taco Tuesday deal. Service can be slow when it is busy, but reviewers describe the staff as friendly. It is a short walk from the Padma end of Legian beach.
