Té Kila calls itself a Latin American kitchen and tequila and mezcal bar. It sits on Jalan Raya Pengosekan in south Ubud, with a dark-wood, candlelit dining room and an outdoor terrace. Music drives the week, with sunset sessions on Thursdays, house DJs on Fridays and a Latin night with live percussion on Saturdays.
The menu is mainly Mexican. Tacos come in pairs on soft corn tortillas, including carne asada, beer-battered Baja prawn, chicken al pastor and quesabirria with consommé for dipping. The ceviches include an Acapulco-style clásico and a coctel de mariscos with octopus and shrimp. Mains run from pescado a la veracruzana and camarones al chipotle to sizzling fajitas, and the grill adds wagyu flank and ribeye. Churros with dulce de leche lead the desserts.
It suits a dinner date or a group night that carries on late. After dinner, head upstairs to Diego, the late-night cocktail club, which has its own bites menu. Book through the website.
