Mexican Eat Where

Ubud

Ubud's Mexican places reflect the town itself: open-air cafés, rice-field views, live music and some vegetarian options. Long-stay visitors, families and day-trippers from the coast all eat here.

Té Kila Ubud in Pengosekan pairs quesabirria tacos and ceviches with a tequila and mezcal bar and DJ nights. La Luz in Penestanan serves Mexican food with a Balinese twist, such as mushroom rendang tacos, from breakfast onwards. Taco Fiesta Bali on Jalan Bisma has upstairs seats over the rice fields and live music on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Taco Casa on Jalan Pengosekan is one of Bali's longest-running Mexican kitchens. Bella Tacos Ubud, on Jalan Tirta Tawar north of the centre, serves tacos, burritos and quesadillas with fresh juices.

Most places are casual and inexpensive. Central Ubud is walkable, but Penestanan and Tirta Tawar are easier by scooter taxi. Check live music nights before you go.
