Lolita's is the cliffside sister of Lola's Cantina, perched above Suluban on the Uluwatu coast. The balcony looks straight onto the Racetracks wave, so you can watch surfers and the sunset with a drink in hand. The owners describe it as an intimate seafood taqueria with a more traditionally Mexican menu than Lola's.
The menu is curated by Chef Mauricio, a Mexico native, and focuses on ocean-to-table seafood cooked over open flames. Start with tuna or shrimp tempura tostadas, tuna and prawn aguachile, or ceviche Acapulco with fish and octopus. Mains include charcoal-grilled tiger prawns with salsa veracruz, flame-grilled steak or chicken fajitas, and a surf and turf fried rice with prawn al pastor. Churro bites with dulce de leche close the meal. Margaritas use Espolón tequila as the house pour.
Come for a long late lunch or sundowners rather than a late dinner, since it usually closes at 9pm. On Fridays it stays open until midnight to host the after-party from Lola's. The main Lola's venue is nearby on Jalan Labuansait.
