Bearrito was started in June 2020 by Aditya Maulana and Alanda Kariza, who began with weekend pre-orders because they could not find the Mexican street food they wanted in Jakarta. It moved onto delivery apps that September and later opened sit-down shops. This Bintaro branch on Jl. Bintaro Tengah is the brand's busiest on Google, with more than 300 reviews.
Tacos come two to a box on double flour tortillas: carne asada with grilled beef and caramelised red onion, chicharrón made with battered fried chicken, a beef 'carnitas', and tacos de lengua with beef tongue. The Carne Birria Burrito is stuffed with tender beef, black beans, Mexican rice and guacamole. Pollo frito is Mexican-style fried chicken with salsa roja, and the quesadillas are filled with seasoned beef, cheese and jalapeño. Extra salsas, guacamole and chipotle crema cost a few thousand rupiah each.
Prices are low and the format is relaxed, so it works for a quick lunch, a cheap group order (the Taco Bar feeds two to three) or delivery. It is open daily from 11am to 9pm. The other branch is on Jl. Percetakan in Kramat Pela, near Jl. Barito in Kebayoran Baru.
