Something In Between is a small neighbourhood Tex-Mex place on Jl. Margasatwa Raya, at the Andara end of Pondok Labu in Cilandak, South Jakarta. It has had no press coverage and has grown by word of mouth, which shows in a 4.9 rating from 67 Google reviews. The menu sits somewhere between taqueria and burger joint, with home-baked cookies and brownies to finish.
Tacos are sold individually on flour tortillas: chicken al pastor in achiote with diced pineapple, ground beef with cheese sauce, chicken fajita, beef chorizo with fries, and garlic lime chicken, each Rp30,000–32,000. Queso birria comes with birria consommé for dipping, and the loaded fries, topped with al pastor or fajita chicken, sour cream and cheese sauce, are sized for two or three people.
It suits a cheap, casual meal if you live or work around Cilandak or Pondok Labu, and it also delivers through GrabFood. It is closed on Mondays; from Tuesday to Sunday it opens at 11am or midday and stays open until 9pm–11pm.
