Taqueria El Guapo

Taqueria El Guapo, which launched as El Jefe, is a counter in the ground-floor marketplace at Ashta District 8, the mall at the SCBD end of Jalan Senopati. The open kitchen presses tortillas on a flat grill and assembles tacos in front of customers, with seating shared across the marketplace.

Birria tacos are the focus, as the counter's own description of taco birria and Mexican food makes clear. The menu also covers other street tacos, cheese quesadillas and nachos, packed in takeaway boxes or served at the table. Spending is modest, at around Rp50,000 to Rp100,000 a head.

A practical choice for a quick lunch in SCBD or a casual bite while shopping, and easy to order through delivery apps. Hours follow the mall. The brand also runs Taqueria El Guapo on level 5 of the East Mall at Grand Indonesia, plus outlets at Lippo Mall Kemang and in Ancol.
