Poczarica took over unit #01-19 at CHIJMES, the former convent turned dining enclave, in 2025, in the space once occupied by El Mero Mero. It sits right beside the lawn, with a relaxed outdoor terrace under the colonial arches and a colourful dining room inside. The aim is a modern take on traditional Mexican food alongside a serious drinks list.
Start with guacamole, esquites or nachos, then move on to tacos: al pastor with pineapple, quesabirria, Californian shrimp and spicy pollo diablo. Fajitas arrive sizzling on cast-iron plates with flour tortillas, salsa and crema, and the larger seafood or chicken arroz pans are made for sharing. The bar pours Patrón, Don Julio, Clase Azul and other tequilas by the shot, plus margaritas by the glass or bowl and house cocktails.
It suits after-work drinks, birthday groups and tourists exploring the Civic District. Tables can be booked by WhatsApp or through the website, and it opens daily from 11am until late. Note that the menu includes pork.
