The stretch from City Hall to Marina Bay and along the Singapore River mixes riverside cantinas with Mexican bars in heritage buildings. It suits groups, weekend brunches and dinners before a show at the Esplanade.

Super Loco Robertson Quay is a riverside cantina at The Quayside, known for weekend brunch, sharing plates and frozen margaritas. Rico Rico at Clarke Quay is a Katrina Group bar and grill with duck barbacoa tacos and fajitas on a riverside terrace. Poczarica sits beside the CHIJMES lawn and serves seafood arroz with a long list of premium tequilas. Tomatillo Mexican Food & Bar at Esplanade Mall, from the couple behind Canchita and Tinto, makes its own tortillas and has a terrace by Marina Bay.

City Hall, Esplanade, Clarke Quay and Fort Canning MRT stations serve the area. Book ahead for Friday and Saturday nights and for weekend brunch. All four are mid-range and none is halal.
