Macaria opened in July 2025 inside the Maple Hotel on Srinagarindra Road in Bang Na. Owner Iñigo, who comes from Yucatán, named it after the Mayan woman who helped raise him. The dining room has hand-painted murals, warm lighting and a large rope installation hanging over the centre tables.
The menu draws on Oaxaca, Puebla and Yucatán, with corn tortillas made in-house and a few dishes marked as Thai fusion. Order the cochinita huacha tacos, the pastor negro in recado negro, or castaqueso, a guajillo tortilla with fried pork belly and melted cheese. Larger plates include frijol con puerco, pollito pibil, pescado zarandeado and caldo de piedra, an Oaxacan seafood broth cooked with a hot stone.
It suits a relaxed dinner for two or a group meal on the eastern side of the city, and BK Magazine includes it in its 2026 list of Bangkok's best Mexican restaurants. Tacos cost THB 250–270 a plate and mains THB 380–890, plus service charge and VAT. It is closed on Mondays, serves dinner from Tuesday to Saturday and adds lunch on Sundays. Book through its website.
