Mexican Eat Where

On Nut & Bang Na

East of Ekkamai, Sukhumvit Road runs on through On Nut, Bang Chak and Punnawithi to Bang Na, a mix of condo towers, malls and hotels where many Bangkok residents live. The Mexican places out here are fewer and further apart than in central Sukhumvit, and they cater mainly to locals rather than visitors.

Tacos & Salsa on On Nut Road is a no-frills taqueria known for fried fish tacos and chimichangas. Taqueria La Nena, in the market zone of theCOMMONS at Cloud 11, sells taco sets at food-hall prices. In Bang Na, Macaria at the Maple Hotel is a sit-down restaurant from a Yucatán-born owner, with homemade corn tortillas, cochinita pibil and Oaxacan stone soup.

The BTS Sukhumvit line runs out through On Nut, Punnawithi and Bang Na, which saves time in rush-hour traffic. Tacos & Salsa and Taqueria La Nena are casual; book Macaria for dinner, and note it is closed on Mondays.
