El Santo opened in 2024 on the ground floor of Novotel Living Bangkok Sukhumvit Legacy on Soi 29, and takes its look from lucha libre, Mexican wrestling. The space splits into a colourful dining room with a show kitchen, an outdoor courtyard set up like an arena, and a bar styled as a wrestlers' locker room, with occasional Santo Slam wrestling nights.
Chef Daniel Calderón Camacho's menu draws on Oaxacan food culture. Order the quesa-birria with slow-cooked short rib and consommé, the octopus chicharrón, and the smoky mole sea bass made with six chillies and Mexican chocolate; queso fundido and tuna tostadas work as starters, with churros or tres leches to finish. The bar holds one of Thailand's larger tequila and mezcal collections, plus a margarita cart.
It suits groups, birthdays and a lively night out near Phrom Phong, and also hosts private events. Tequila shots come in miniature wrestling rings. Groups of 11 or more should book by phone. There is a kids' menu.
