Santiaga opened in Mahatun Plaza on Ploenchit Road in 2022 with a Mexican omakase counter, and it has since become one of Bangkok's most talked-about Mexican kitchens. BK Magazine named it Best Mexican Restaurant at its 2026 Top Tables awards. It is now an à la carte taqueria with handmade tortillas cooked on a comal, while the chefs work on a new omakase menu. Its more casual sister, La Monita, is downstairs.
Tacos come two to a plate. Options run from suadero with beef and red chorizo to smoked yellowfin tuna, Baja fish and a Wagyu ribeye gaonera. Mexico City street snacks include carnitas gorditas, crab sopes and chicken tinga, and there are scallop esquites, a mini tlayuda, a Kurobuta pork chop in red mole and tres leches cake to finish.
Santiaga works well for a date or a group of friends sharing plates, with mezcal, tepache and margaritas from the bar. It opens for dinner only, and you can request a table through the website. Prices are subject to service charge and VAT.
